Film Screening and Meet & Greet in DC

By Kevin Schneider

Please join the NhRP on June 27th for a special night in DC!

Starting at 6.p.m., the DC Bar is hosting a free screening of Unlocking the Cage:

Directed by award-winning documentarians Chris Hegedus and D A Pennebaker, this film follows the NhRP’s mission to transform animals from legal “things” with no rights to “persons” with fundamental rights, beginning with four captive chimpanzees in New York.

Following the screening, at 9.p.m., NhRP attorney Elizabeth Stein (who is featured in the film) and I will host a Meet & Greet at Busboys and Poets. We hope to meet you all there for a discussion about the film as well as the victories we’ve achieved since the film’s initial release.

Please feel free to join us for both or one of these special events.
